HOW DOES KASHAYA DHARA HELP?
• When Sarvanga kashaya dhara is being performed , the warm decoction poured over the body helps in proper perspiration of the body.
• The medicine in decoction come in contact with the skin and enters in skin pores, relaxing mind and inducing sleep.
• The pharmacological action of the medicines and the temperature which is maintained during the treatment act as counter irritant which is thermal stimulus and may affect pain sensation and itching sensation.

POOORVAKARMA
Thorough examination of patient’s prakruthi and vikruthi should be done to select the quantity of kashayam required.
PRADHANA KARMA
• The kashayadhara starts with padapooja followed by gentle oil massage.
• The patient is laid in the supine position and from a certain height; lukewarm kashayam is poured in a particular rhythm by two trained therapists.
• During the procedure gentle massage is performed along with pouring of kashayam
• Therapy works midly perspiring the patient which is very relaxing
PASHCHAT KARAMA
• Adviced to take rest followed by hot water bath.
• Hair must be washed with medicated water.
