Food poisoning, often known as foodborne illness, is an ailment caused by eating contaminated food. Infectious organisms or their toxins can contaminate food at any point during processing or manufacturing. Food can be contaminated at home if it is not handled or cooked correctly.     ” (Raj Oushadi) in Ayurveda. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties. It calms the stomach lining while reducing the symptoms of food poisoning like vomiting, stomach soreness, and nausea. Boil a cup of water with one teaspoon of grated ginger and a pinch of honey to taste. This aids in providing quick relief.

  • Yoghurt: Yogurt has antibacterial properties that help combat microorganisms that cause food poisoning. Stomach pain and vomiting can be relieved quickly by mixing one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds with a spoonful of yoghurt.
  • Garlic: A garlic component is 100 times more efficient than two popular antibiotics in combating one of the most prevalent causes of food poisoning. It helps avoid fever and other symptoms due to its powerful antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal effects. Other symptoms such as diarrhoea and stomach pain are also relieved.
  • Rice porridge: Dehydration and indigestion are common side effects of food poisoning. Rice porridge or rice water with a pinch of salt can assist in hydrating and restoring needed salts in the body. It also assists with digestion.
  • Water: Water can heal everyone. Ayurveda recommends drinking enough water to rid your body of all toxins and bacteria. Vomiting or diarrhoea can cause dehydration, so small sips of water are a good place to start.
