Foods to Avoid at Night According to Ayurveda

If you are serious about your body and health, Ayurveda advises you to be mindful of the food you eat at night. Your body and mind may be immediately affected by eating late at night. Your body needs to eat at certain times to function correctly, in addition to what you eat. Ayurveda and modern science both advise light evening meals.

One of the most common suggestions is a list of foods to avoid at night according to Ayurveda. If we divide a day into three equal sections, Kapha will naturally rule the final part. Therefore, the food we eat during this time should balance Kapha and not enhance Kapha dosha.

Foods to avoid at night according to Ayurveda – Foods that are greasy, unhealthy, sweet, difficult to digest, non-vegetarian, cold or frozen, ice cream, big quantities, curd, and other items should be avoided or eaten in moderation at night. You should refrain from eating these things after midnight.

Consuming these meals causes Kapha to grow, which can lead to issues like morning runny nose, increasing cough and cold, allergies, excessive weight gain, morning excessive salivation, worsening vomiting, indigestion, and so on.

Over time, it results in the accumulation of toxic substances, which creates additional problems. The foods mentioned above should not be consumed by anyone who has any of these conditions. Many respiratory diseases are treated or improved by this straightforward dietary change alone in many cases.

Diet plan for the night

– It is best to follow a balanced, low-carb diet that is simple to digest. Replace curd with buttermilk at night.

Compared to rice, chapatis are preferable. Food consumption should be restricted in terms of quantity. Dal, turmeric, curry leaves, and little amounts of ginger are all beneficial at night. The general guideline is that eating should leave you feeling light in the stomach. There should not be any sense of heaviness.

When we are asleep, we typically use less energy. Therefore, if we eat a lot at night, the bulk of the energy the meal produces is stored in the body, resulting in the accumulation of fat and weight gain. Modern science, therefore, advises a light diet at night.
